The troublesome knee was bothering me again in bed last night. How can it be that I didn’t feel it once on yesterday lunchtime’s 10k run but as soon as I’m in bed trying to read or watch something, the bugger starts aching so badly that I was considering reaching for more painkillers?
Is it simply that the effort of the run occupies your mind, you forget any niggles you have, but as soon as you’re lying down, trying to relax, every little ache and pain you have comes to the fore? I’m inclined to think that might be the case.
I tried all manner of reclining positions to try and counter the discomfort, including various different cross-legged bearings, all to no avail. Once I eventually dozed off for a bit around 0100hrs, I was fine. I woke up again about an hour later, the 80+ togs on the bed all over the bed. How I managed to leave a bed with so much weight on it in terms of bedding so dishevelled is beyond me. Maybe that’s somehow played a part in the troublesome knee?
