It’s been a strange year, one in which I was at least looking forward to the summer, thinking we were at least now living in a northern European country where we could now get the hot summers that were few and far between growing up here. After a long harsh winter which left me struggling with numb fingers, a problem at some of the basement gigs in the middle of January, I was placing huge stock on summer bringing some relief to this new issue. Instead, I found myself doing an outdoor gig in early June in Rochester, by the Medway, on an unusually cold summer’s night and my hands numbed up again.
